About the Chapter

The Campbell University College Republicans are looking forward to a big year.  We have many active members who take pride in representing our chapter, working to better the Republican party, and campaigning for Republican candidates across the state of North Carolina.  The Campbell University College Republicans meet every other week in D. Rich (main campus).  During these meetings, we open with prayer and discuss upcoming events, activities, and ideas to better our chapter and community.  For more information on meeting times, please contact a member of the Campbell Executive Board.

Chairman, Malia Zaytoun

Malia Zaytoun is from New Bern, North Carolina and is currently a junior at Campbell University.  She is double majoring in government and history and aspires to go to law school once she graduates.  Malia has been very involved in politics since she was quite young and has grown to love the political life.  As Chairman of the Campbell University Chapter, Malia has worked hard to build membership and encourage the growth of one of the smaller schools in the NCFCR.  She plans to continue this tradition next year at Campbell University, as well as across the state through the NCFCR.

Secretary, Ian McPherson

Treasurer, Matthew Viohl

Matthew Viohl grew up all over the South, living in the great states of Texas, Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina.  Matthew didn't get my first taste of politics until my mom began to work for a mayoral race when he was roughly 12 years old.  He started to better understand politics though during the 2008 election year.  His own personal participation began then when he volunteered partially with the Bill Graham gubernatorial campaign.  Since then, Matthew have become an avid fan of politics and have closely followed the progression of both parties."

Chaplain, Jonathan Bridges

Jonathan Bridges is from Princeton, North Carolina. He is currently a Freshman Public Relations/ Government Major at Campbell University. In addition to being the Chaplain of the CU College Republicans, Jonathan is also a SGA Class Representative and an Army ROTC Cadet among other organizations.
