Guilford College

About Guilford College:

Guilford College draws on Quaker and liberal arts traditions to prepare men and women for a lifetime of learning, work and constructive action dedicated to the betterment of the world.  Guilford is located in Greensboro, North Carolina, which is the 3rd largest city in North Carolina. During the American Revolution the land Guilford sits on was disturbed by the decisive Battle of Guilford Courthouse, four miles to the north. Quakers cared for the wounded of both sides and buried the dead in New Garden Meeting's cemetery. Today one can see a marker to the unknown British soldiers interred there as well as visit the battlefield, now a national military park.  Guilford College was named 19th in private school education in America by The Princeton Review. Only two other North Carolina private colleges (Duke and Davidson) and three other public colleges (NC State University, UNC Asheville and UNC Wilmington) appeared on the list.

About the Guilford College Republicans:

We, the members of the Guilford College Republicans, established January 23, 2010, believe in the traditional values put forth by the framers of the Conservative ideology. We feel the need to produce this organization to provide a council in which members can come together and discuss matters of political importance. The cardinal intention of this organization is to promote conservative ideals and inspire student’s awareness of politics at the campus, county, state, and  national level. The political issues of primary importance to the Guilford College Republicans include: honoring and preserving the U.S. Constitution, maintaining civil liberties, lower taxes, less government, a discreet and unassuming role in foreign policy, preservation of the inalienable rights, and utilizing a free market approach to the economy. With each of these issues at heart, we hope to continue to do our part in supporting the Grand Old Party as best we can.
