About the Chapter:

Lenoir-Rhyne University is currently expanding its chapter, focusing on new member recruitment, fundraising, and volunteering for local Republican candidates. Lenoir-Rhyne re-federated in the 2008 election year, with new leadership and 15 members.  Despite a bad year for Republicans and a small campus base for those that are politically active, the program got off to a successful start.  They successfully hosted a campus 9/11 Memorial with over 200 students, faculty, and community members in attendance.  The chapter hosted a wide ranging group of speakers between August and November including: Congressman Patrick McHenry (NC-10) along with his Campaign Manager Rebecca Yount and District Director Mark Fleming, and Director of the Hickory GOP Victory Office Michelle Stewart, along with other local elected officials and candidates for office.
