About the School

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is a public research university located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. First enrolling students in 1795, UNC is the oldest public university in the United States and is one of the original eight schools known as a "Public Ivy." Today, UNC is the flagship of the consolidated University of North Carolina system. On the playing field, UNC has won 37 team national championships in six different sports, including five in men's basketball.

About the Chapter

The UNC-CH College Republicans are committed to spreading the principles of conservatism and the Republican Party across campus. Our goals include electing Republicans at all levels of government, preparing students for leadership, and contributing to the marketplace of ideas on campus. The UNC-CH College Republicans are one of the largest and most active clubs in the southeast. In past years, we have logged thousands of hours campaigning for Republican candidates at the local, state, and national levels and have designed campaign plans to help conservative students make major gains in student government elections. Furthermore, over the past few years, we have brought high-profile leaders of the Conservative Movement to speak on campus including government officials (former Sen. Zell Miller & former US Attorney General John Ashcroft), columnists and pundits (Ann Coulter, Jonah Goldberg, and Stephen Moore), and academics (Walter Williams).
