About the School
Wake Forest is a liberal arts college of 4,000 students located in Winston-Salem, NC. It is unique in that despite its small size it boasts an extremely successful and competitive athletic program that participates in the Atlantic Coast Conference. In fact, the university is the second smallest school in the nation to participate in Division 1-A football. Wake is also academically renowned, ranking as the 30th best national university according to the 2007 U.S. News and World Report. The political climate at Wake can be described as moderate with a slight lean to the right.
About the Chapter
The Wake Forest chapter of College Republicans is one of the largest student organizations on campus with around 200 active members. They host a variety of campus wide events including an annual September 11th Memorial Service and several large speaker engagements. Wake CRs also conduct a vast amount of campaign work, attend state and national conservative conferences, and hold social events such as barbecues and tailgates. One of the more unique events recently put on by Wake College Republicans was a voter registration drive that featured live music on the Mag Quad.
