Western Carolina University
Cullowhee, North Carolina
About the School
Western Carolina University is nestled in the mountains of North Carolina, between Asheville and the state line in a small town called Cullowhee. Although the surrounding community is quite small, WCU continues to grow, now pushing 10,000 students. The students refer to the area as "The Whee." Although our school sports purple and gold colors, the College Republicans are always bringing red, white, and blue to campus, especially red.
About the Chapter
The College Republicans at Western have been working for many years to encourage college students, as well as community members to vote–vote conservatively. Our organization has held and plans to hold many different events on and off campus, including valley-bally who, State Convention, Conservative Political Action Conference, Morals Week, Voter-Registration drives, fundraisers, and more. Many of our members not only are active in the College Republicans, but are also a part of Greek life, the Honors College, and sports. The diverse group of students that participate in the College Republicans at WCU has help to make a bigger impact on our campus.
